The Empire was located at 2109 Empire Boulevard near Route 104. June 3rd, 1949 was its grand opening with the feature presentation "Mickey" starring Lois Butler. It boasted a large green screen with enormous pink letters. According to the International Motion Picture Almanac, the Empire held 830 cars.
The theater's final year of operation was 1982. It was demolished and replaced with a 12-screen Loews multiplex movie theater and a strip mall. If you have any pictures of this theater,  please send me an e-mail!!
